Sergey Vodolagin, managing Partner of the Westside law firm, spoke at the annual legal forum organized by “Vedomosti” newspaper

On April 12-13 XIV Annual Legal Forum of Russia, organized by "Vedomosti" newspaper took place at "Marriott Royal Aurora" hotel.

Westside law firm was represented by Managing Partner Vodolagin Sergey at the Forum. He was a speaker at the session "Judicial reform, which has already begun in Russia." During this session Vodolagin S. delivered a lecture on "The impact of the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms on the judicial reform in Russia”, where he outlined the historical context of the reform of the judiciary, as well as the practice of the Constitutional Court under the influence of the European Convention on Human Rights and fundamental freedoms, in particular the right to a fair trial, as stipulated in the Convention. In addition, Sergey Vodolagin assessed the prospects for the development of the Russian judicial system in the light of the threat of Russia's withdrawal from the Council of Europe.

There were also discussed such important and relevant topics, as corporate law and M&A transactions, recent significant disputes, changes of antitrust laws as well as the analysis and regulation of the legal services market.
